Family History

So, Family....

Richard and I are taking a Geneology class together, and we have been learning about the value and importance of creating your own personal history. It can be really easy and very rewarding.
Compiling your own history can be overwhelming..where do you start, right? Our teacher advised us to start by writing in segments. Break down your life into different parts, i.e. "early childhood" "teenage years" etc. then, start to fill in the parts that you can remember. Even choosing topics about your life, such as "Scouting" or "camping trips" or "excercise" and writing little essays about experiences you had, or how you feel about the subjects. You could also write about challenges and struggles, and how you worked through them.

I have a challenge for ALL of you (and I plan on doing this too):
Sunday is a great day for working on your personal history. Take some time each sunday, before or after church, and write a little bit about your life. Gradually, you will accumulate a priceless piece of history for your posterity and yourself. Don't stress about it, but just do something.

Will you try this? What are your thoughts?
